As an economist of learning, I have been working in the field of HR and learning since 1987. The value of learning for people, organizations and society was never tangible in financial terms. This motivated me to found ROI Institute Europe (under the name Navigator) in 1998. It was an honor to become the European partner in 2013 of Jack Phillips of The ROI Institute, who has been educating HR and learning professionals in showing the value of learning since the early seventies.
The challenge has always been the collecting and reporting of the value of learning. Together with the Dutch ROI-team we were able to build a very robust digital information engine, that shows our clients the financial value of well trained and motivated employees.
Since 2015 I have been working for The Conference Board as Center Leader and Council Director Human Capital Analytics. It is a privilege to lead the research and share experience with seasoned practitioners in this new and fascinating discipline.
